Achievements
Salient achievements a. One forage ricebean variety “ Shyamalima” is released for Assam in 2011and notified in 2016. b. One forage Lathyrus variety “Madhuri “ is released for Assam in 2016. c. Setaria grass variety “PSS-1” was found promising for NE region, recommended to included in Package and Practices. d. One multi-cut Oats variety “ JHO 99-2” has been identified and recommended to include in package and practices. e. One single cut Variety “RO-19 ” has been identified and recommended to include in package and practices f. Guinea grass variety “Bundel Guinea -2” found suitable for Assam conditions and recommended to include in package and practices. g. Congosignal grass variety “ DRSB 7” found suitable for Assam conditions and recommended to include in package and practices h. Two rye grass variety PRG-1 and Makhan grass are recommended to include in the package of practices for Assam. i. Two hybrid napier variety CO4 and CO5 are recommended to include in the package of practices for Assam. j. One Guinea grass variety BG-1 found suitable for Assam conditions and recommended to include in package and practices k Establishment of fodder nursery and fodder seed bank for easy availability of planting materials of different forage crops. l. Demonstration of scientific fodder production technology for year round fodder production
