(e) Involved in coaching programmes for JRF, ARS/NET as and when needed, 2013-2015. (f) Published two numbers of practical manuals for the courses Agron-223 and Agron-512.
  • B. Research: 1. Associated with AICRIP, AICRP on Dryland Agriculture and presently with AICRP on Weed Management. 2. Associated with development of production technology of locally developed and recommended new high yielding rice varieties of the state for ahu, sali and boro season (1987-2004). 3. Evaluated the efficacy of tank mixed application of three broad–leaved herbicides viz., clopyralid, fluroxypyr and tribenuron with isoproturon in wheat as an alternative of 2, 4-D (1991-94). 4. Worked as member in NWDPRA (National Watershed Development Project on Rainfed Areas) team (1998-2001) and worked on crop diversification and intensification under sub-humid alluvial flood-prone and flood-free medium land situations with identification of suitable rice-based cropping sequences under Kakodunga watershed ((in Raidanjuri, Kolakhowa, Bajalkota, Nahatia, Bakhasti gharia & Esha gharia villages in Terimerijan, Bohola and Nagabat area). 5. Successfully completed three NATP projects (NATP-CGP, NATP-RRPS-22 and NATP-RRPS-35) as Member, Working Group, RARS Titabar (2001-2004). 6. Successfully completed CSIR-CSMCRI sponsored project on Evaluation of fertilizer potential of seaweed saps on black gram (2012-2013) 7. Presently associated with (a) Improved Crop Management and Strengthened Seed Supply System for Drought Prone Rainfed Lowlands In South Asia (under “EC-IFAD) (b) Climate Smart Management Practices in rice (IRRI-ICAR) (c) GHG mitigation through Alternate Wetting & Drying (AWD) and Fertilizer Deep Placement (FDP) in transplanted and Direct-seeded rice during Summer and season (IRRI-APART)
  • C. Extension: 1. Involved in site selection, practical demonstration, monitoring, evaluation of 59 (fifty nine) numbers of Front Line Block Demonstration in 11(eleven) districts of Assam to popularize some newly developed varieties of ahu, Sali, boro rice with improved production technology during 1996-2004 and one on weed management in black gram (2020).1460 Farmers 2. Identification of farmers’ problems which need research through PRA in 17 villages of different agro-climatic conditions of Assam, Chattishgarh (28.07.97 to 02.08.97 in collaboration with IRRI & IGAU, Raipur) and undivided Andhra Pradesh (04-14 Dec., 2007 in collaboration with CRIDA & ICRISAT, Hyderabad) 3. Participated in one phone programme in Doordarshan, Dibrugarh, one in AIR, Jorhat and 12 (twelve) radio talks 4. Imparted 63 numbers of farmers’ training and 13 numbers of trainers training including short courses and winter school covering 1740 numbers of farmers and 300 Trainers, respectively

Institution Building: (i) Associated (as Member, Knowledge Management Committee, RKB, Assam) with content development viz., preparation of Factsheets, Manuals and Brochures etc. for launching of the Assamese and English version of the Rice Knowledge Bank, Assam (RKB, Assam) portal —a digital extension service of Agricultural University (AAU) with the support of IRRI and in collaboration with the Government of Assam, the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) (ii) Providing technical support for planning and execution of World Bank aided Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) for the objective to Raise productivity, profitability, and resource-use efficiencies of rice-based cropping systems in Assam through improved crop and natural resource management and scale-appropriate mechanization and supporting a service economy (iii) Team Member of Crop management Group for Finalization of recommendations for inclusion in the PoP of Field and Horticultural Crops, 2019 (iv) Course Coordinator, ICAR Sponsored Winter School on Advances in Organic Production System and Conservation Agriculture (24 September – 14 October, 2015), (v) Performed the duties of Member of the (a) Research Monitoring Unit (2010), (b) Examination Committee (2011 & 2012), (c) Crop Damage & Livestock Assessment Committee for flood affected areas (2012), (d) Screening Committee for admission into various PG programmes including the foreign students (2012), (e) Monitoring Team - Technology Showcasing and Participatory Seed Production Programme (2013), (g) Screening committee for various posts in KVKs & Associate Professor (2015), (h) District Agricultural Contingency Plan Committee, Majuli District (2017), (i) Research Monitoring and Advisory Team for all research projects at RARS, Titabar (2017), (j) Scrutiny Committee for the selection of teachers to be sent abroad under NAHEP (2019), and (k) Chairman of the Screening Committee for the posts of Assistant Professor & Equivalent Junior Scientist, AAU (2018-19). (vi) Associated with spot survey of Preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the Agricultural Farming Corporation (AFC) with identification of problems and prospect available in each AFC for development of farms located at different places of Assam {As per request of the Director of Agriculture, Govt of Assam and instruction of D.R.(Agri) AAU, 2013}. (vii) Farm Management: Served as Farm Manager for six years and eight months (As additional Charge) & engaged with quality seed (Certified and T. L. Seeds) production of different recommended varieties of ahu, Sali and boro rice of Assam at RARS, Karimganj and Titabar producing paddy seeds to the tune of 137.6 t @ 34.4 t/year and 176.2 t @ 58.7 t/yea, respectively.
  • E. Publication: Published 50 Research papers, 22 Abstracts, 2 popular articles, 5 other publications, 2 books, 1 book chapter, 1 extension bulletin and 1 compendium of lecture notes ICAR sponsored winter school.
  • F. Consultancy Service for Technical assistance to the (a) Rastriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi (2018) in respect of Agro-based livelihood intervention in rural areas and (b) Safety & Environment Department, Oil India Limited, Duliajan, Assam, to study crop damage and estimated yield loss due to high temperature caused by flaring pits of oil collecting stations, leakage of natural gas and spillage or overflow of crude oil effluents from the buffer tanks or pipes in the drilling sites of Oil India Limited, Duliajan, in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh and Sivasagar districts of Assam (Period 2001, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 & 2016) and suggested few recommendations to minimize crop losses through adoption of improved crop variety with modern agricultural technologies.
  • G. (4) Performed the duties of external examiner for conducting and evaluating practical and comprehensive written and oral examination in SASRD, Nagaland University and College of Post Graduate Studies, CAU, Barapani, Meghalaya.
