I have been serving in the University since 3rd September, 1996. During this period some major contributions in different field have been mentioned below:
Education/Teaching
• Involved regular in two PG courses on water management and Stress crop production and Bridge Course for Agricultural Biotechnology post graduate students on principles of crop production. Till date eight students have completed M. Sc (Agri.), two students have completed PhD degree and one PDF , ICAR-IARI, New Deli under my supervision . Besides, involved as member of Advisory Committee of post graduate 22 students from Agronomy, Crop physiology, Soil Science and Extension Education, Agro Meteorology Departments of AAU, Jorhat . Worked as member of the Nodal Unit of the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) for AAU. Developed one practical manual for water management course in under graduate course and also acted as external examiner for Thesis evaluation and question paper setter from other Unversities.
Research and development
• Involved in the activities of research management and Central Sector Programmes viz,, RKVY (Nodal Officer), NFSM _ Pulses, BGREI and TSP in the Directorate of Research(Agri), AAU, Jorhat . Associated with Technology Showcasing Programme of RKVY where participatory seed production particularly HYV of rice was a success story . Worked in AICRP on Irrigation Water Management where took part as active participation in developing and recommending five technologies on various aspects of water management. I also worked in twelve number of Research projects handled either as PI or co-PI
Extension Service
• Served in three KVKs viz., KVK, Cachar, KVK, Nagaon and KVK, Golaghat under AAU for more than 10 years and worked for Transfer of Technology through farmers training , on farm testing and FLD, Involved in popularizing short duration high yielding variety (HYV) of paddy particularly Luit in Barak valley Zone , Imparted various training organized by DoEE / KVKs of AAU and other Organizations and actively involved in foundation seed production programme under NFSM Pulses/ ICAR Seed Project . Delivered about 50 Radio Talks on different aspects of Crop Production
International exposure
1. Attended the 40th foundation day International Rice Research Conference during 2000 at International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines and presented a paper . During 2018 visited Australia as a member of the Horticulture Study Tour under World Bank aided project. In 2019 went to International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC), Dhaka, Bangladesh for studying the urea deep placement (UDP) technology under world bank project on Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation project.
