Achievements
  • With nearly 29 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension, Professor Medhi has an extensive body of work that includes around 100 research publications in national and international journals, 10 research bulletins, 4 teaching manuals, 20 book chapters, 5 thesis abstracts, 22 extension bulletins, 4 books, 3 e-videos, and 14 developed technologies. He has also been honoured with two national awards and received a letter of appreciation from Assam Agricultural University for his dedicated and sincere contributions to the overall university management system on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Due to his pivotal role as the Nodal Officer for NIRF ranking at Assam Agricultural University, the university secured the 14th position among all agricultural universities in the country.
  • He has supervised 7 PhD candidates and 8 master’s students, in addition to advising over 40 students as a member of various advisory boards. Dr. Medhi has been deputed to attend 8 state-level, 27 national-level, and 1 international-level training programs and involved in 16 research projects, 13 assigned research projects, and 44 institutional research projects as PIs and Co-PIs, in addition to working as a remote sensing and GIS expert to a World Bank-funded initiative. Additionally, he serves as an External Expert on the Board of Post Graduate Studies at Nagaland University, Training Coordinator for ISRO-IIRS outreach programs, and nodal officer for seven university-appointed responsibilities.
  • Beyond his core responsibilities, he has held several key administrative roles, including Farm Manager, Warden, Chief Warden, and In-Charge of the Science and Technology Cell in the office of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. He is currently serving the university as the Director of Students' Welfare, overseeing all student welfare activities across the university’s nine constituent colleges.
