Constituent Department under Sarat Chandra Sinha College of Agriculture
Animal Husbandry & Dairying department started functioning at Sarat Chandra Sinha College of Agriculture w.e.f 1st March 2016. This department is offering a compulsory course both theory and practicals on Animal Husbandry for the undergraduate B.Sc. (Agri.) students. The department has set up a livestock unit comprising of an Instructional Dairy farm, a goatery and a poultry unit for the purpose of students' practical. The department is also planning for fodder cultivation to minimize the cost of livestock production and the development is under process. The dairy unit is providing clean milk to the consumers. The goatery unit is also creating revenue generation and at the same time the Beetal bucks serve the indigenous goats of nearby farmers for dissemination of improved germplasm. The department is also offering ELP course for 4th Year students under the module EL-420 (VI) i.e. Poultry Production Technology. In this module the students develop entrepreneurial mindset which help them motivate for start-up business in future.
