Achivements
  •  Fifty (50) germplasms/lines of chilli were screened for resistant against yellow mite, Polyphagotarsonemus latus and reported that the lines PC/2602, CCH-65 (d), 27/10 and 4/09 A (Black) were found to be moderately resistant and the local collection Memjolokia, Krishna, Konjolokia and Moni were found to be resistant againstthe pest.

 As biocontrol means of mite pests, predatory mite, Neoseiulus longispinosus was released @20/plant that could control 100 percent mite of Tetranychus urticae

 Crop loss in litchi due to litchi mite infestation was estimated to be 37.88 %.

 Among the organic treatments against litchi mite, Metarhizium anisopliae @ 2×108 cfu and Azadirachtin 0.15%@ 3 ml/l (Commercial botanical) resulted at par satisfactory control of 83.46 and 82.56 per cent of mites, respectively, after 35 days of application and could be adopted as biocontrol means against litchi mites.

 Among the locally extracted botanicals, polygonum leaf extracts was found to be superior giving 88.48 and 85.33 per cent mite mortality after 7 days of treatment in tomato and chilli, respectively.

 Mass production technique of the predatory mite, Neoseiulus longispinosus has been developed in Amaranthus hybridus as host crop on Tetranychus urticae as prey mites.

 Biodiversity of mites has been studied in a continuous manner. During 2012 to 2020 total 58 phytophagus mite under four families and 10 predatory mite species under six families have been recorded from different crop ecosystem.
  •  Per cent incidence of mite at pre and post spraying along with phytotoxicity and yield records. One spraying of Polygonum hydropiper @ 0.4 % aqueous leaf extract against Tetranychus urticae infesting tomato reduced 88.64% mite population after 7 days of treatment with B:C ratio of 2.10.
 a) Organic management of litchi mite: Two sprayings of Azadirechtin 0.15 % @ 3 ml/l at 7 days interval prior to flowering Or One spraying of Metarhizium anisopliae @2×108 cfu (2 ml/l) prior to flowering reduced mite population by 89.04% and 82.04 %, respectively after 7 days of spraying.
  •  Among different biosynthesized AgNPs, Garlic AgNPs was found to be most effective against Tetranychus urticae population which resulted in 69.57% mite reduction within 5 days after application.  The tick species of North-East India were studied for species profiling through morphological and molecular methods. Control of tick species revealed that Imidacloprid 17.8 % SL @ 1.5 ml/l was most effective chemical agent against all tick species.  A botanical formulation was developed from leaf extract of Polygonum hydropiper. This botanical @ 0.4 % showed effective against several sucking insect and mite pests on different crops.
