Achivements
  • Completed NATP project , RRPS-24 on “Participatory and Integrated Assessment of Natural Resources and Evaluation of Alternate Sustainable Land Management Options for Tribal Dominant Watersheds.” sponsored by ICAR, New Delhi from June, 2000- June, 2003. Technology developed for natural resources conservation in degraded hillocks in NE region.
  • Completed Research Project on "Exploration of Potentials and Feasibility of Fly Ash for Agricultural Application in Assam” Sponsored by DST, FAU, Govt of India, New Delhi from April, 2009 to Sept 2011. Technical knowhow generated for application of Assam's fly ash in lowland rice that high heavy metals content in fly ash generated in Assam raised question on its suitability for agricultural application.
  • Collaborated with the Department of Crop Physiology, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat as a Co-Principal Investigator in a NATP research project entitled "Application of crop modulation models to develop crop and nitrogen management strategies for increasing rice productivity under rainfed favourable lowland situation of Eastern India" sponsored by ICAR, New Delhi from June, 2000- Dec, 2003 .
  • Developed fertilizer prescription equations for targeted yield of transplanted winter rice, var. Ranjit in Assam under IPNS and without IPNS. Recommended in state Package of Practices.
  • Generated fertilizer prescription equations for targeted yield of normal sown rapeseed, var. TS-38 in Assam under IPNS and without IPNS. Recommended in state Package of Practices.
  • Developed fertilizer prescription equations for targeted yield of late sown rapeseed, var. JT-90-1 in Assam under IPNS and without IPNS. Recommended in state Package of Practices.
  • Developed fertilizer prescription equations for targeted yield of summer green gram, var. Pratap in Assam under IPNS and without IPNS. Recommended in state Package of Practices.
  • Developed fertilizer prescription equations for targeted yield of Hybrid rice var. US-382 in Assam under IPNS and without IPNS. In the pipeline for recommendation in state Package of Practices.
  • Generated fertilizer prescription equations for targeted yield of aromatic rice var. Keteki Joha in Assam under IPNS and without IPNS. In the verse of recommendation in state Package of Practices.
  • A. Written and published 4 Practical Manuals for UG courses and 3 Practical Manuals for PG courses.

    B. Guided 7 PG students and 5 Ph. D. students.
  • Involved in numerous farmers related activities such as Farmers training, method demonstration, verification trials at farmer's field, FLD, organized Field days, Krishan Gusthi, broadcasted radio talks etc.
