Livestock Research Station (LRS) under Directorate of Research (Veterinary), Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat was established in 1981 at Mandira, Hekra under Nagarbera Revenue circle, Kamrup. Since its inception, this station is providing good services in the overall development of veterinary research system. Many research units are functioning in this station and many farmers friendly technologies have been releasing from time to time. In this station 13 (Thirteen) permanent employees comprising of Eight (8) scientists (one Principal Scientist, One Senior Scientist cum Chief Scientist(I/C) and 6 Scientists), one Junior Accountant, One Jr. Administrative Assistant, and One SVFA, One Animal attendant and One driver are working. All persons are trying hard for further development of this station and also for future development of farming community through development of technology lead research so that this station can bring pride to entire Assam and also keep the AAU’s flag high.
