Two
dwarf field pea varieties viz., Pant P-11 and HFP-9415 were found
to be good yielder with yield potentials of 15.14 q/ha and 14.03 q/ha
respectively compared to check variety
HFP-4 (9.84 q/ha) and KFPD-1 (9.81 q/ha) Two
small seeded lentil varieties LH-97-32 (16.45 q/ha) and KLS-218 (15.75
q/ha) was found to be significantly superior over check variety PL-406
(10.55 q/ha). Agronomy In
Barak Valley Zone, sowing of Rajmah is recommended upto 3rd
week of November in medium low land rice fields. Plant
protection Among
newer insecticides tested against Heliothis armigera on chickpea
spraying of Asafen (Fenvalerato + Accphato) 700g a.i../ha was found
most effective. Carbofuran
@ 2 kg a.i./ha applied in the infested soil just before sowing of
seeds and monocrotophos @ 0.1% as seed soaking for 6 hours significantly
suppressed Meloidogyne incognita population over control and
increased yield of mung and blackgram. Management of M. incognita in mung through botanicals and
chemical pesticides showed that carbosulfan @ 3% (W/W), Achook @ 3%
(W/W) as seed dressing and monocrotophos @ 0.1% as seed soaking were
significantly superior over control in respect of yield increase and
suppression of population. Biotechnology Routine
in vitro regeneration system developed for Indian cultivars of chickpea. Putative
transformations in chickpea containing bean & amylase inhibitor
gene to confer resistance to stored grain pests was established. |
