Faculty of Agriculture
Human Resource Development
A number of teacher/scientists of the Faculty were deputed for national and international training and research programmes in frontier areas of specialization. Six teachers attended national training on subjects like extension management, soil mineralogy, crop physiology, molecular nematology and plant molecular biology, in institutes of srepute. These training engaged from one to four weeks duration. Two teachers attended summer training/school in environmental economics and agrometeorology.

Under the Commonwealth Fellowship Programme one teacher of the Department of Plant Breeding & Genetics, received one year training on use of DNA markers for study of uniformity/distinction of plant varieties. Another teacher of Plant Pathology Department went for higher training on bio-control of Mikania in U. K. for a period of two weeks. Similarly, another teacher from Plant Breeding & Genetics Department participated in the XII European Orchid Congress and attended a 3 month training on Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and Genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) in Korea.

There are altogether 67 projects/Schemes in operation in different departments in the Faculty.
