Nagaon district is situated at the center of the state, which comes under Central Brahmaputra Valley Zone and surrounded by hills of Karbi Anglong in the east and south, Morigaon dist in the west and river Brahmaputra in the North. The major physiographic variations of the zone are low hills; piedmont and high land areas, flood plain, char lands and swampy areas.
