Front Line Demonstration (FLD)

A)     Oilseeds : 60 demonstrations on Sesamum (AST–1), 36 on Toria (TS–36) and 13 on Linseed (T–397) crop were conducted covering an area of 23 ha, 8 ha and 2 ha respectively. The varieties demonstrated gave significantly better yield than the local varieties.

B)     Pulses : On Black gram (PU–19), 59 demonstrations; Lentil (B–77), 35 demonstrations and on Pea (Arkel), 8 demonstrations were carried out in an area of 16 ha, 9 ha and 1 ha respectively. All the varieties showed significant increase in yield over the local varieties.

C)    Rice : In case of Boro rice, 32 numbers of demonstration on both variety – Joymati and Kanaklata were conducted in an area of 5.55 ha and 4.45 ha respectively. On Ahu rice, three improved varieties namely Luit, Lachit and Dikhow were demonstrated on farmers field covering an area of 6.67 ha, 3.33 ha and 6.00 ha respectively.

D)    TPS of Potato : The variety – HPS 1/13 of TPS were demonstrated on 10 locations in an area of 0.27 ha. The variety registered an average yield of 168.00 q/ha and showed 31.85 % increase in yield.

E)     Livestock Enterprise : FLD on cattle vaccination were conducted to develop immunization against FMD disease. 263 numbers of cattle of local breed were immunized, all vaccinated animals developed immunization, while 15 % of the non-vaccinated animals were affected by FMD.
