          The Krishi Vigyan Kendra is a district level Farm Science Center established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi for rapid transfer of technology to the farmers fields. The operational area of this Krishi Vigyan Kendra is Darrang District which comes under the North Bank Plain Zone. The aim of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra is technology assessment and refinement through demonstration of technology products and dissemination through training of farmers and extension personnel.

         Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Darrang was established in the year 2007. It is a scheme sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and run by Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, Assam.

     Presently, the office of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Darrang is running at a rented house which is located at ward no. 2 under Mangaldai Municipal Corporation. The selection of site of permanent establishment of KVK is yet to be finalized.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF KVK ARE

   Farm Advisory.
   To impart training to the farmers & farm women.
    To impart training to the Rural youth.
    To impart training to the Agricultural Extension functionaries.
   To conduct Front Line Demonstration (FLD).
   To conduct On Farm Trial (OFT).
