Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dibrugarh was established in March 2007 (13-03-2007) under the Directorate of Extension Education, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat vide the sanction of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It is about 20 km away towards south-eastern direction of Dibrugarh town, the district head quarter, 8 km from Lahoal, a small town with a railway station and 15 Km from Dibrugarh Airport.
KVK is a noble concept developed by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as primary links to empower the farmers, farm women and rural youth through capacity buildings. It is an innovative science based institution which functions with collaborative participation of scientists, extension workers and farmers to disseminate and transfer technology developed in the laboratory for the field application at farmers' level and developing agriculture and allied sectors.[More about KVK Dibrugarh]
