Agricultural Research Information Systems (ARIS), funded by ICAR, was set up in 1998 in Jorhat campus as a Central facility for the entire university for setting up linkages among all departments, research and extension units, and all the colleges under the Assam Agricultural University. ARIS Cell has linkage with the ICAR. At present, the ARIS Cell has interconnected all the departments in the Faculty of Agriculture, the university administrative building, the Directorates of Research, Extension Education, Students' Welfare and the College of Home science through LAN, thereby prodiving E-mail and internet facilities. Presently, works are under progress to set up LAN in the University's Khanapara campus. In the second phase it has plans to interconnect all the Regional agricultural research and extension centres of the University.
