Meetings and Workshops

The National Agricultural Higher Education Project was formally launched in different colleges of AAU on the following dates-

30th October, 2018
  • College of Fisheries Science, Raha.
  • College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara.
  • 5th November,2018
  • Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat campus
  • 20th November, 2018
  • Biswanath College of Agriculture, Sonitpur, Assam
  • 4th December, 2018
  • SCS College of Agriculture, Dhubri
  • The National Agricultural Higher Education Project, under the stewardship of Dr. K.M. Bujarbaruah, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Dr. K.K. Sharma, PI, NAHEP organized an AAU-Industry Interface on the 19th of March, 2019. The event brought together the students of Assam Agricultural University and 10 dynamic entrepreneurs/ Industrialists from across North East India, who are excelling in their field of work. The meeting provided the university a scope to showcase its technologies to the general public, which was aptly demonstrated by Dr. Ashok Bhattacharyya,(DR, Agri), Dr. B. Bhattacharyya(DDR, Vety) and Dr. Bibha Chetia Borah(in-Charge, Fisheries Research Centre). The students interacted with the entrepreneurs/industrialists regarding establishment of profitable enterprises in the region. The meeting ended on a high note with the vote of thanks by Dr. Rana Pratap Bhuyan, DSW, AAU.

    NAHEP organized a placement under NSPDT, Bhopal for the students of AAU on the 25th of March, 2019. Two jobs were offered to the students for the post of Executive Trainee on selection.

    A Workshop on Soft Skill Development of UG Students was held from 19th to 24th August 2019 in the Jorhat Campus. The Resource Personnal for the workshop was Radha Shankarnarayan from Radha Smart Series Bengaluru.
    The Topics of the Workshop were:

  • Time Management
  • Goal Setting
  • Presentation Skills
  • Personality Development

  • The Resource Person conducted the Workshop in a participatory mode where altogether 88 students from College of Agriculture and College of Community Science participated.
    Out of the total students participated, 61 were girls. The students raised various issues related to their personality development approach and sought remedial measures from Radha. The resource person explained the students about the techniques of mitigation of stress and the steps to overcome fears with regards to their curriculum, presentation and public address. The students expressed their satisfaction over the workshop.
    The workshop was inaugurated on the first day by the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, AAU Jorhat and Certificate of Participation were offered to the students after the end of the program.

    The Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat-13 in collaboration with AIMIL LTD., Kolkata organized a workshop on “Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis(NTA): A New Technique for Nanoparticle Characterization and Aggregation Studies” on 22 Aug, 2019 under the sponsorship of National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP)-ICAR. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. L.C Bora, Professor and Head, Dept. Of Plant Pathology
    Pranab Dutta, Scientist and Organizing Secretary of the workshop said that altogether 22 nominated faculties and PG scholars from three colleges of AAU and a PhD scholar of NIT-Agartala attended the workshop

    AAU Industry Interface was held in College of Veterinary Science, AAU Khanapara on the 14th of November, 2019. After a brief inaugural function attended by Dean, Director of Research, Associate Director of Extension, Jt. Register of Khanapara campus along with the Principal Investigator, NAHEP, AAU. Altogether Industrialist/Entrepreneurs shared their experience and replied to the Queries of the students.
    Altogether 93 students participated in the interface meeting. The students expressed satisfaction over the workshop.
